apps242 is a small collection of free calculators and lookup tools for people and businesses in The Bahamas.

Who runs it

apps242 is an independent project. It is not affiliated with the Government of The Bahamas, the National Insurance Board, the Department of Inland Revenue or any bank. Our sister site, duty242.com, covers import duty, shipping and forwarders.

Why

Working out your take-home pay, a mortgage payment or the cash needed to buy a home means hunting through official notices, bank brochures and old news stories. We put the official numbers in one place, show the working, and keep them up to date.

How we verify rates

1. Every rate, threshold and band is stored in a versioned configuration file with the date it took effect, a link to the official source and the date we last checked it.
2. Each tool shows those dates and links on the page, under "Sources".
3. When the national budget changes a rate, we check every source, publish the new rates with their effective date, keep the old ones on file, and add an entry to the rate changes log.
4. If a rate hasn't been verified, the tool tells you so rather than calculating with a guess.

Corrections

Spotted a wrong number or an out-of-date rate? Please tell us, ideally with a link to the official source. Accuracy is the whole point of the site.
